a nice hot sunny day, a vast improvement from the dodgy british summer weather so having looked over the course i decided on my chances for the day and headed for the main climb in the hopes of some action.
I wasn'to be disappointed there was a group of 8 away although the peloton was looking placid lead by Cadel's team. Having found a nice corner with a nice view over the winding valley and then a big sweeping bend i sat back and waited for the race to come.
i was rewarded with some nice shots of the lead group coming round the corner and a distant shot of the peloton.
Sadly this was going to be my only shot of the day, on arrving it Foix i couldn't see a way to get through the barrier and make it to the finish i ended up sitting behind the race for the last 25Km's winding away and then back towards Foix.
All that was left was to park up and get to the press centre, what was advertised as a short walk really wasn't, thankfully someone took pity and gave me a lift the rest of the way but sad;y not back again after.
